Today’s the day! September 1st, 2025. My official “Day One” as an Indie Game Developer. The start of an adventure I’ve been dreaming about for a long, long time.
Just yesterday, I was saying my goodbyes to my amazing and talented colleagues at King. I’m so grateful for my time there and the incredible team I worked with on Farm Heroes Saga. It was an absolute masterclass in building a hit mobile game, and I’ll cherish everything I learned.
But let’s be real—this isn’t my first time on my own. For almost eight years, I was the head of my own business. While the industry was completely different, those years taught me the hustle, the discipline, and the sheer grit it takes to make something successful. I’ve been itching to combine that entrepreneurial spirit with my passion for games—a passion that only grew stronger whilst studying for my MA in Indie Game Development at Falmouth University.
And now, here we are. It’s time to build Frosty Dog Games.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want the company to be, and my vision is simple: Bringing fun to everyone. I believe games should be about fun first. That means quick to learn, a joy to play, and designed to put a smile on your face — whether you’ve got a minute or an hour to play. It’s what I lovingly refer to as
The Frosty Dog Way
We’re a small indie studio with big ideas — and we’re here to make games that everyone can enjoy. From frosty paws to playful worlds, our goal is simple: to spread fun, everywhere we can.
I’m launching this blog, ScaryBlankPage.com, to pull back the curtain and share every step of the journey. The good, the bad, the hilariously wrong—all of it. I hope by sharing my experiences, I can offer a few helpful insights for anyone else who might be looking at their own “scary blank page.”
For now, the company is dormant, and my main focus is on creating our first game for the casual mobile market. I’m also making sure the business is set up for success right from the start.
The road ahead won’t be easy, but I’m ridiculously excited. I’m ready to turn my ideas into playful worlds that people will love.
So, here we go. The scary blank page isn’t scary anymore—it’s just the beginning.
Wish me luck!
